Update on Covid-19 and the 2020 Bridlington Golf Festival

Dear Bridlington Golf Festival Competitor,

These are unprecedented times and we sincerely hope that we can return to our normal way of life very soon.

It is with regret and after much deliberation and discussion we have come to the only sensible and responsible decision, that this year's Bridlington Golf Festival has to be cancelled.

This decision was not taken lightly but the health of everyone concerned is of paramount importance and it seems clear that the current situation seems to be escalating very quickly and is unlikely to have cleared by early May.

The Golf Festival Committee have come up with a number of options for all those who have enteredand paid for this year's event.

  1. Everybody who has entered this year's Bridlington Golf Festival will have all their start times and payments automatically transferred to the 2021 event, due to be held on Monday 3rd May to Saturday 8th May 2021. The format of events will be identical to this year's event, so the events will be at the same courses on the same day of the week as this year. All monies will be automatically transferred.
  2. As an alternative we have managed to create a smaller version of the Golf Festival later in the season to offer something for all those disappointed that the main Golf Festival has been cancelled. The dates are Monday 24th August to Saturday 29th August. Monies paid for this year's Golf Festival can be transferred to this event and subsequently payment for the 2021 Festival will be collected as normal from 1st October 2020, as your times will still remain in place for the 2021 Golf Festival.
  3. We would also be happy to issue a "Golf" credit note to allow you to organise your own Trip to the East Coast later in the year when this situation has come to a conclusion. The "Golf" credit note will be useable against Green Fees at the three host Golf Clubs – The Bridlington Links GC, Bridlington GC & Flamborough Head GC.

Unfortunately we will not be able to offer any refunds and hope that the three alternative options made available are acceptable to all.

We would very much like to see you in August but whenever you choose to come we sincerely hope you avoid this virus and stay healthy and safe.
